Deb Hunt

We're pleased to share the story of one of our valued volunteers.
Deb Hunt volunteers her time at United Way to greet visitors and help in our offices at the front reception desk.

"I love people and getting to know them. My husband and I raised four girls, and now, with a flexible work schedule volunteering is one way I can use my time and talents to help my community," she says.

"I began my search by Googling “Volunteer Opportunities” on the Internet. I clicked on United Way’s Volunteer Solutions which lists and describes various volunteer positions in the area. The process was so easy and I found just the volunteer position I was looking for. The listing for the receptionist job at United Way sounded fun and people-oriented.

I called the phone number to find out more and we set up an appointment to meet.
Since then, I really enjoy being a part of the United Way team and meeting all the wonderful people who walk in for meetings or to get help. It’s a great place to volunteer because everyone is friendly and very welcoming. I suggest that anyone looking for a volunteer position check out United Way’s Volunteer Solutions," Deb says with a smile.
